The Center for Clinical Care and Clinical Research (CCCRN) is recruiting to fill the position of: Short-term Technical Assistant to write an End-of-Project Report for the Integrated Child Health and Social Service Award Lot 1. The position is located in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with at least 3 years work experience.

Job Title: Short-term Technical Assistant to write an End-of-Project Report for the Integrated Child Health and Social Service Award Lot 1

Location: Uyo, Akwa Ibom
Employment Type: Contract 10 Days

Introduction 

  • Integrated Child Health and Social Service Award (ICHSSA) is a - five-year, USAID–funded project that commenced on December 19, 2019.
  • The project is designed to reduce the impact of Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) on orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in Akwa Ibom and Cross River states respectively.
  • ICHSSA is implemented by the Center for Clinical Care and Clinical Research Nigeria (CCCRN) in partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS), alongside other local resource experts.
  • The ICHSSA will ensure that OVC are cared for and protected by their households, communities, and local and state governments to reduce their vulnerability to HIV.
  • The project will also ensure that communities promote child and family-friendly, gender and HIV-sensitive cultural norms and practices.  

It has the following expected results:

  • Households have increased access to basic services and care for OVC
  • Communities ensure that OVC secures their rights
  • Local and State Governments deliver basic services, detect, and respond to child rights violations
  • Prioritized targeted services for specific OVC subpopulations delivered

Background / Rationale

  • Accomplishing a project's predetermined milestones can be satisfying, but it isn't done until the final paperwork (closure report) is obtained with administrative approval.
  • On the ICHSSA 1 project, the closure report is the last deliverable to be submitted to USAID at the end of a project.
  • It is expected to document sufficient details including synthesis of performance data, best practices, lessons learned, and feedback from stakeholders and team members who worked on the project. This task, if well executed will guide CCCRN to improve in future projects.
  • Additionally, they have developed information products including, technical and thematic briefs; factsheets, and some compendia for success stories, project’s standard operating procedures (SOP) that we wish to print and share with different levels of stakeholders during project closeout meetings.
  • Some of these information materials are in draft forms and will require a professional touch in terms of graphic designs to enable the visibility of these materials.

Purpose

  • The objective of this assignment is to produce an end-of-project report and provide designs for some information materials that creatively communicate how the ICHSSA 1 project's processes and procedures worked/addressed the issues outlined in their contract including the success metrics.  
  • In addition to describing the project's accomplishments, outcomes, and results by scripting and editing the report, the consultant is expected to do the graphic design of the report as well as other information materials.

Scope of Work 

  • The End of Project Report will capture the entire interventions of the program in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, and Cross River, highlighting performance data, innovations, lessons learned, and feedback from key stakeholders and team members at the state, local government, and community level, including human interest and success stories achieved by the program interventions about the project goal. 

The End of project report writing team will be responsible for: 

  • Hold in-brief and debrief meetings with the ICHSSA 1 Project management team for an explanation of TOR, and EOP team roles clarifications and provide task status updates 
  • Desk review program documents to get an understanding of the program
  • Engage with relevant staff to seek clarification where necessary 
  • Develop project performance analysis including but not limited to: goals and objective performance; success criteria performance and the schedule and budget performance
  • Highlight challenges and risks that developed stating how these were addressed
  • Itemize the lessons learned, suggestions for future projects
  • Format the font size, style, paragraph indentations, chapter headings, graphics, spacing, and color separation
  • Decide the report cover, title, and subtitles.
  • Indicate a clear table of content
  • Handle all editing, graphics including professional narration used in the document 
  • Submit the final EOP report with graphically designed information materials in a printable form to the ICHSSA 1 Technical Management Team for review and approval 
  • Incorporate comments and feedback on the final copy and resubmit for final approval by SMT. 
  • Engage in the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing, and creating graphics including illustrations, layouts, and photos. 
  • Package the manual visuals based on requirements
  • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
  • Work with the CLA Advisor and the Communication team to finalize the draft end of the project report and other information materials.

Language:

  • The end-of-project report and any other information attended to will be written in English

Roles and Responsibilities 
Consultants:

  • Conduct a desk review of program documents to get an understanding of the program
  • Format the font size, style, paragraph indentations, headings, and spacing
  • Ensure final graphics and layouts of all the documents worked on are visually appealing and on-brand
  • Creatively depict the program results using infographics, graphic designs, and animation
  • Highlight challenges and risks that developed during the implementation stating how these were addressed
  • Itemize the lessons learned, suggestions for future projects
  • Submit the draft report and the graphically designed project information materials in printable format to the ICHSSA 1 Technical Management Team for review and approval 
  • Ensure incorporation of all relevant comments and feedback on the final reports and other information material and resubmit for final approval by SMT. 
  • Signed and closed contract

ICHSSA 1:

  • Develop a work plan, including a schedule for debriefing, timeframe, and approach to be used
  • Organize in-brief and debrief meetings with the ICHSSA 1 Project management team for an explanation of TOR, and EOP team roles clarifications  ï‚· Provide reference materials. 
  • Liaise with the consultant and engage with relevant staff to seek clarification where necessary ï‚· Provide feedback when and where necessary.
  • Review and approve the draft and final report produced as stipulated in the deliverables section and contract

Ethical considerations:

  • The report will be treated professionally including respect for confidentiality of documents and all other information sources related to beneficiaries’ identities. 

Timeline :

  • The production of the end-of-project report will require a period of 10 working paid days including weekends and public holidays, executed within 2 Weeks.

Supervision:

  • The consultant will be supervised by the Collaboration Learning and Adapting Advisor 

Logistics:

  • All in-brief and debrief meeting arrangements shall be provided by the CCCRN-ICHSSA 1. A technical support team made up of TAT, and other program staff will assist the consultant (where required). 

Qualifications

  • A Degree in the relevant field, and additional qualification in report writing is an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in report writing.
  • Good knowledge of technical requirements for report writing.
  • Professional experience in report writing in a non-profit, program management, or institutional research
  • Demonstrated ability in report writing, content development, editing, and graphic design with evidence of previous work done
  • Creative design teams on infographics and animation
  • Excellent working knowledge of English and use of MS Suites
