The Center for Clinical Care and Clinical Research (CCCRN) is recruiting to fill the position of: Short-Term Technical Assistance (STTA) Consultant - Nurse Leadership Project. The position is located in Abuja. Interested candidates should possess B.Sc Degrees in Nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, or a related field with 5+ years relevant work experience.

Job Title: Short-Term Technical Assistance (STTA) Consultant - Nurse Leadership Project

Duration: 90 days

Position Overview

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Short-Term Technical Assistance (STTA) Consultant to provide expertise in a proposed Nurse Leadership Project.
  • The consultant will work closely with project stakeholders to assess training needs, design and deliver capacity-building interventions and support the development of nurse leaders within the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct Needs Assessment:

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to conduct a comprehensive needs assessment of nurse leadership capacity within healthcare institutions.
  • Identify gaps, challenges, and opportunities related to nurse leadership, management, and professional development.

Design Capacity-Building Interventions:

  • Develop a tailored capacity-building plan based on the needs assessment findings and project objectives.
  • Design training modules, workshops, and resources to enhance nurse leadership skills, strategic planning, team management, and decision-making.

Deliver Training and Workshops:

  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars for nurse leaders and healthcare teams on topics such as leadership principles, communication, conflict resolution, and change management.
  • Utilize interactive and participatory methodologies to engage participants and promote knowledge retention.

Provide Technical Assistance:

  • Offer ongoing technical assistance, coaching, and mentorship to nurse leaders and teams to reinforce learning and support implementation of best practices.
  • Collaborate with project staff and partners to address emerging challenges, share lessons learned, and promote continuous improvement.

Monitor and Evaluate:

  • Develop monitoring and evaluation tools to assess the impact of capacity-building interventions on nurse leadership effectiveness, job performance, and organizational outcomes.
  • Collect and analyze data to measure progress, identify success factors, and make evidence-based recommendations for program refinement.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare comprehensive reports, case studies, and documentation of training activities, outcomes, and lessons learned.
  • Communicate findings, best practices, and recommendations to project stakeholders, donors, and relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in capacity development, training, and leadership development within the healthcare sector.
  • Strong understanding of nurse leadership principles, healthcare management, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs, workshops, and capacity-building interventions.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation methodologies and data analysis techniques.
  • Experience working in international development projects or with donor-funded programs (USAID experience is an asset).
