Photo Video Consultant at Catholic Relief Services (CRS)

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) supporting relief and development work in over 110 countries around the world. CRS programs assist people based on need, regardless of creed, ethnicity or nationality. CRS is a global leader in agricultural livelihoods programming and promotes resilience building in impoverished, disaster-affected, and climate change-impacted areas around the world. CRS re-established its presence in Nigeria in the year 2000 and currently works in 32 of Nigeria’s 36 states, focusing on agriculture and livelihoods, health, and emergency programming.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Photo Video Consultant

Location: Sokoto
Employment Type: Full-time

Summary of the Assignment

• To engage the services of an experienced photo-video producer to produce success stories videos and photos for the Kyautata Rayuwa project intervention areas and impact.
• The consultant will visit the project intervention sites and capture visuals (photos/videos) to showcase the project’s work in anticipation of the project donor visit.

Specific Tasks to Perform

• Pre-commencement discussions with relevant CRS staff (Kyautata Rayuwa Project Manager, Marketing and Communications Coordinator and Communications officer) to brief the consultant on the context of the assignment and discuss expectations.
• Briefing by the Marketing and Communications Coordinator on CRS branding, photo style and captions.
• To photograph and video the following key project activities identified in table below.
• Project Activities:
  • Nutrition
  • Food Security and Livelihood (FSL)
• Profile participants and stakeholders by gathering videos, photos, opinions and views of participants and all necessary caption information.
• Develop video scripts for review by the project team before production.

Branding Requirements:

• Shoot at your camera's highest resolution. At a minimum, photos should be at least 4,000 pixels on the long side of the photo.
• Photos delivered to CRS should be high-res JPG’s. No TIFFs or RAW files, please.
• While final videos should be captured in MP4 files and submitted in a sharp quality.
• All photos should be in colour.
• Every photo should have a full caption and, to the extent possible, the caption for each photo should be unique.
• All captions should be placed in the IPTC data and provided to CRS as a word file.
• Ensure photo releases forms, otherwise known as consent forms for captured visuals.
• Ensure that LDSC branding features prominently in photos as much as possible.

Deliverables:

• Deliver a total number of 50 photos with captions. Photos can be shot in a mix of landscape and portrait mode.
• High resolution captioned photos submitted to CRS through WeTransfer to the Project Marketing and Communications Coordinator and Communication officer, in addition to a hard drive handed over to the Kyautata Rayuwa project manager in Sokoto.
• All consent forms, video clips (both raw and edited) testimonials etc, submitted to CRS Focal point for review and finalization.
• One long video of 5mins for Food Security and Livelihood and 5mins for Nutrition and two short videos (2 mins for FSL and 2 mins for nutrition). 5mins videos should be shot in landscape, while 2mins should be in Instagram reels video dimensions (1.91:1 and 9:16)
• All captions should be submitted in a separate word file.

Competencies and Selection

• Proven experience capturing high quality images professionally within similar context.
• Proven experience of highlighting the benefits of the interventions through photos, video clips, quotes etc.
• Access to all photography equipment is required.
• Editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.

Level of Efforts:

• A total of 10 working days will be required for the entire duration of the assignment - for both gathering content and editing. CRS will provide vehicles for field trips to capture photos and success stories.
• Consultancy Location: The consultancy work will be strictly based in Wurno and Wakkamo LGAs across the project implementation communities
• Reporting: The consultant will report to the Project manager with a dotted line to the Nigeria Marketing and Communications Coordinator and communications officer.
