The Green Climate Fund (GCF) invites contractors and consulting firms to submit proposals which will help increase innovative ways that will trigger more efficient and more climate-compatible solutions to climate change challenges.
The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is a global initiative set up to respond to climate change by investing into low-emissions and climate resilient development. It was established by 194 countries to limit or reduce greenhouse gas emissions in developing countries and to help adapt vulnerable societies to the unavoidable impacts of climate change. In order to scale up GCF's activities and meet the global climate change challenge, the GCF has set up the Private Sector Facility (PSF) to fund and mobilize institutional investors and leverage GCF's funds to encourage corporates to co-invest.
The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is currently seeking proposals from the private sector in order to bring in private sector investments that fit within the climate change priorities and GCF strategic impacts on mitigation and adaptation. The Fund proposes to develop a more integrated and holistic approach in order to realize mitigation and adaptation impacts.
The Private Sector Facility (PSF) therefore seeks opportunities through which to mobilize and amplify private sector activity in agriculture, forestry, and energy in order to increase innovative ways which will trigger more efficient and more climate-compatible solutions to climate change challenges.
Therefore invite submissions/proposals are invited from qualified individuals/organizations and institutions for the potential strategic investments priorities of the Fund. The GCF aims to have an impact within eight strategic result areas related to both mitigation and adaptation impacts.
The strategic mitigation impacts of the GCF are to reduce emissions from:
- Energy generation and access;
- Transport;
- Buildings, cities, industries and appliances;
- Forest and land use.
The strategic adaptation impacts of the GCF are to increase the resilience of:
- Health, food and water security;
- Livelihoods of people and community;
- Ecosystem and ecosystem services;
- Infrastructure and built environment.
All interested private sector organizations/individuals can submit proposals to
