In pursuance of its constitutional functions and in compliance with due process requirements, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) seeks to undertake Insurance policies for its operations.
To this end, the Commission invites duly registered and reputable insurance Underwriters and Brokerage firms to Express Interest to provide cover and to manage the various insurance policies as Underwriters and Brokers respectively.

General Requirement for Expression of Interest
The Company’s profile highlighting the following:

1. Evidence of registration with Corporate Affairs Commission.
2. CTC of Tax Clearance Certificate or acceptable evidence of up-to-date payment of Company Tax for the year 2011,2012 and 2013.
3. Evidence of VAT registration and remittance of all Taxes.
4. Evidence of Registration and Remittances of both employer and employees’ Pension Contribution including Group Life Assurance policy.
5. Evidence of ITF training contribution.
6. Audited Accounts for 2011, 2012 and 2013 financial years.
7. Evidence of Financial capacity and Banking support.
8. Evidence of filling Annual Returns with CAC for 2011, 2012 and 2013
9. Details of experience and technical/professional qualifications of key personnel.
10. List of verifiable evidence of similar policies being managed.
11. Company’s representative GSM number and e-mail address.

In addition to the above, Underwriters are also expected to submit the following:

1. National Insurance Commission current practising licence.
2. Evidence of valid reinsurance treaty arrangements
3. Identification of available extensions and exemptions applicable to each cover.
4. Time within which the policy and all other documents evidencing the contract shall be issued.
5. Claims reporting procedure and documentation in respect of each cover.
6. Time limit within which claims shall be processed and paid.
7. Guarantee / remedy against failure to settle claims as indicated.
8. Other incidental services that can be rendered to the Commission by the company under the contract of insurance.
9. Any other submission that will attest to the company’s reputation and capability to efficiently handle and manage the covers its expressing interest in.

In addition to requirements for expression of interest above, the Brokers are also expected to submit the following:

1. National Insurance Commission current practising licence.
2. Evidence of professional Indemnity Insurance cover from a duly registered insurance company.
3. Evidence of current membership of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB)
4. Evidence that atleast a key member of staff is an Associate member of NCRIB.
5. Any other submission that will attest to the company’s reputation and capability to efficiently handle and manage the covers its expressing interest in.

Closing Date:
The deadline for the submission of Expression of Interest shall be Wednesday, 10th December, 2014 by 12.00 (Noon) while opening will be immediately after the deadline on Wednesday, 10th December, 2014 by 12.00 (Noon) at the Commission’s Conference Hall, Maitama-Abuja.

Submission
All submission of Expression of Interest should be in five (5) bound copies and sealed in an envelope marked “Expression of Interest as either an Underwriters or Broker for INEC Insurance cover (Indicating the Lot(s))”.
All envelopes should be addressed and submitted to:
